Jim McCowan

Jim McCowan was born in Utah and raised on a farm. Being the third child of nine, his parents taught him to work hard and to love the outdoors. So during his high school years and after he graduated, he worked in construction.

After serving a mission in New England for the LDS church, he taught English in China, traveled through out Europe and Asia, and ended up in Hawaii, where he studied History and married his sweetheart, Linda, from New Zealand.

After they both graduated with B.A. Degrees, and still having a bit of wander-lust, his wife and he decided to do his postgraduate studies in Australia. He earned Masters and Doctorate Degrees and by that time they also graduated as proud parents of four Aussie children, Ben, Jessie, Sophia and Ruby.. He worked for the Australian Intellectual Properties office and would likely still be working there if it weren't for a call back to his roots.

So after fourteen years, he has come full circle. In 2001 he returned to the Southwest and in 2002 got back into construction. In 2005 he and Linda decided to settle in Kanab where they feel right at home, being close to extended family and the beauty of the Colorado plateau.

Cody Judd

As a 6th generation Judd in the Kanab area, Cody was born and raised in Kanab, Utah to Dennis and Kathleen Judd. He has two sisters and one brother.

Cody grew up ranching along side his father and grandfather where he learned honest and hardworking ethics. After graduating from Kanab High School in 1992 he won a VICA competition in which he recieved a scholorship to Southern Utah University in the Building Construction Industry. When Cody finished college he went to work as a builder in Wickenburg, Arizona. He ran heavy equipment and installed water and sewer mains before returning to Kanab. In 1996, after moving home, Cody married Britney Mecham "Judd" whom was also born and raised in Kanab.

They Have two girls Devann and Saige. Their oldest daughter Devann loves to play sports, while Britney and thier youngest daughter love horses and compete in barrel races. In 1999 Cody recieved his General Contractors license and started Rafter C Construction along with his partner Casey Heyborne doing all stages of construction from concrete to finish carpentry, while also specializing in metal buildings.

In the Spring of 2005 he teamed with Jim McCowan to form River Construction and he presently serves as President of River Construction Inc. The company forecast calls for construction of an estimated 100 homes/units in 2006 in Kane county.
